Dick studied art at the University of Iowa and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. His studies included Graphic Design and Advertising Art as well as Watercolor with Irving Shapiro. He has attended many watercolor workshops and also conducts his own workshops and demos.

Before pursuing painting, Dick had a successful career in graphic design and art direction, receiving numerous national and international awards. He served as Sr. Vice president, Executive Creative Director at a major Chicago marketing firm.

Dick is in charge of the Master and Signature Mini Paintings this year.  He will be sending requests to many of our Signature members, receiving the paintings, photographing them for the website, mating and framing each, displaying them at the dinner and recording sales.

Dick is a signature member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, an associate member of the National Watercolor Society and a member of the Chicago Artists Coalition. His work is shown in Galleries in the Chicago area as well as Door County, WI.
