Growing up in rural Michigan and inspired by her parents, Christine developed a love of nature. She wove that love into her studies at Michigan State University where she majored in clothing and created hand dyed, hand woven textiles. This work led to painting on silk to create one-of-a-kind clothing which was displayed in prestigious boutiques from Detroit to New York. Christine had her own boutique for 10 years, before moving to Florida where she and Richard, her husband/business partner, now reside.
Florida has proven to be inspiring for Christine as she paints in watercolor which allows for the luminosity in her paintings which do indeed stir emotion and create a dialogue between viewer and artist; from the serenity of a landscape to the splendor of a bird, or the richness of a flower.
As Co-Chair of the TWSA Awards committee, Christine and her husband Richard are responsible for the coordination and presentation of all awards at our annual Celebrate Watercolor dinner.
Christine is a member of many Watercolor societies and her art work has appeared in numerous magazines, including covers of Watercolor Magic, Sunshine Artist Magazine, and featured in The Artists Magazine, to name just a few.
Christine’s fine art can be seen at Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples, Florida, Wild Child Art Gallery in Matlacha, Florida, and at fine art shows.
